I really like the color coated ones. I just open them up a bit and slip them around the stitch. Those and colored safety pins are my lifesavers. What a great idea, and then I'll have lots of extras around if my hair is getting in the way and all my knitting needles are occupied. ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18444369.post-44565024771174962802008-04-06T18:41:00.000-05:002008-04-06T18:41:00.000-05:00Counting out loud helps me not lose track. Also wha...Counting out loud helps me not lose track.

Also what I do, if I have to cast on a LOT, is just go without counting until it looks like I have close to the right number of stitches. Then I count them in sets of 3 up to 30, place a stitch marker, count the next 30 and move the stitch marker to there...and so on until I know how many stitches I have. Then I just pull off or cast on however many more stitches I need to get the right number.

Works because even if I keep perfect track of what I'm doing, I count them again when I'm done anyways. And this way I don't have to freak myself out while I'm casting on going "twenty-six, twenty-seven, twenty-eight, twenty-eight...damnit!"Loganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04738069379185000478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18444369.post-53100549996483683932008-04-04T21:12:00.000-05:002008-04-04T21:12:00.000-05:00What a great idea!
